Athletics: Parkin, Marstaller Named Student-Athletes of Year Highlighting Annual Awards Night
Seniors Kaylea Parkin of Red Hook, N.Y. and Darrik Marstaller of Spofford, N.H. were recently honored as the male and female Student-Athletes of the Year respectively, headlining the annual Daniel Webster College Athletics Awards Night ceremony on Wednesday, May 2nd in the Collings Auditorium on the College campus. Athlete of the Year accolades were bestowed upon graduate student Vanessa Bosques of North Windham, Conn. and senior men’s soccer and baseball player Elliot Kilgore of Milford, N.H.

Volleyball: Zamore Honored Among AVCA’s Prestigious National “30 Under 30” Award Winners
Daniel Webster men’s and women’s volleyball head coach Braden Zamore has earned a spot on this year’s American Volleyball Coaches’ Association (AVCA) “”Thirty Under 30” Awards list. The honorees were announced Thursday afternoon by the AVCA. This award was created in 2009 to honor up-and-coming coaching talent at all levels of the sport. To qualify for the award nominees had to be 30 years old or younger in 2012.

The third seeded Keene State College women’s volleyball swept sixth seed Daniel Webster College 3-0 in a quarterfinal match of the ECAC Division III New England tournament at Spaulding Gym on Wednesday night.

Women's Volleyball: Crawford, Finneran, Hill Earn NECC All-Conference Honors
Three women’s volleyball student-athletes have been named All-Conference by the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) as selected by the conference coaches and announced Monday afternoon. Senior Chelsey Crawford of Westfield, Mass. earned first team honors, senior Jennifer Finneran of Barnstead, N.H. earned second team honors, and senior Samantha Hill of Hudson, N.H. was an honorable mention selection.

Women's Volleyball: Eagles Live To Play Another Day In ECAC Tournament
For the second time in the past three seasons, the Daniel Webster women’s volleyball team will see its season extended. The Eagles were notified on Monday that they have earned the sixth- seed for the ECAC New England Championship Tournament and will visit third-seeded Keene State on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in a quarterfinal matchup.

The Daniel Webster women's volleyball team took its best shot and went down swinging, taking the first set against Southern Vermont by a NECC opponent since 2010 but ultimatley succumbed, 3-1 in the semifinals of the championship tournament Friday night.

The senior trio of Chelsey Crawford (Westfield, Mass.), Jennifer Finneran (Barnstead, N.H.) and Brier Temple (Concord, N.H.) combined for 28 kills with just one error and junior Ally Hayden (Bedford, N.H.) added 27 assists guiding fourth-seeded and host Daniel Webster past fifth-seeded Lesley, 3-0 in the quarterfinal round of the New England Collegiate Conference tournament Wednesday night at Mario Vagge Gymnasium

Women's Volleyball: Regis Outlasts Eagles, 3-2
Regis College and Daniel Webster College traded sets all night but the Pride came out on top with a 3-2 marathon victory over the Eagles on Wednesday night in New England Collegiate Conference women’s volleyball action. The Pride used set scores of 25-10, 18-25, 26-24, 11-25, 15-11 in the victory.

Women's Volleyball: NECC Names Finneran Player of the Week
Daniel Webster College women’s volleyball player Jennifer Finneran of Barnstead, N.H. has been named the New England Collegiate Conference “Player of the Week,” announced Monday by the conference office. Finneran, a senior middle blocker, averaged 2.71 kills per set while hitting .290 with 46 kills against 15 errors in 107 attempts as the Eagles posted a 4-0 week.

Women's Volleyball: Eagles Remarkable Rally Shocks Eastern Nazarene, 3-2
It may have been a regular season non-conference women’s volleyball matchup, but Thursday night at Mario Vagge Gymnasium had all the edge, all the heat and all the intensity of a playoff game. In an atmosphere and result similar to the 2009 NECC Championship, host Daniel Webster stormed back from a 2-1 set deficit and then added an improbable rally from 13-9 down in the fifth set to stun Eastern Nazarene, 3-2 before a rollicking crowd of 200 as part of “Pack The Gym Night."

Jennifer Finneran (Barnstead, N.H.) had 11 kills for the Eagles and added five solo blocks.

The Daniel Webster women’s volleyball team posted a 1-1 mark alongside Mount Ida and Wentworth Institute as part of a regional trimatch Saturday at Mario Vagge Gymnasium. The host Eagles (2-1) posted a 3-0 sweep of Mount Ida in the day’s opener, Mount Ida followed with a 3-1 victory over Wentworth, and Wentworth closed the day with a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Eagles.

The Daniel Webster women’s volleyball team has been picked second in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) preseason coaches’ poll, announced today by the conference office. Fifth year Head Coach Braden Zamore’s club looks to improve upon a 16-9 overall record in 2011 including a 5-3 mark in conference play.

A 13-game home slate highlights the Daniel Webster College women’s volleyball program’s 25-game 2012 regular season schedule as announced today by the DWC department of athletics. DWC comes off a 16-9 overall mark last season which included a 5-3 record in NECC play.
