Women's Volleyball: Eagles Upset At Bay Path, 3-1

Holyoke, Mass. – The Daniel Webster women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 surprise decision to Bay Path College in a New England Collegiate Conference matchup Saturday at the Holyoke Community College Bartley Center.

Hadine Harkless knocked down a match high 20 kills (of the team's 34 total) and added 12 digs and three solo blocks for the Wildcats (12-8, 4-1 NECC), who topped the Eagles (13-6, 3-1 NECC) for the first time in the history of the series. Ashley Provost added 25 assists. Allie Esquivel added five kills.

Chesley Crawford (Westfield, Mass.) led DWC with 17 kills while Samantha Hill (Hudson, Mass.) knocked down nine. Caitlyn DePierro registered 20 assists while Ally Hayden (Bedford, N.H.) added 13. Amanda Wilson (Merrimack, N.H.) pulled in a match high 25 digs while Emily Travis (Somerset, Mass.) added 13.

Bay Path took control early, winning 25-17 and 25-23 in sets one and two before the Eagles answered in set three with a 25-18 win. But the Wildcats took a tight 26-24 win in the fourth to seal the victory.

DWC struggled at the net, hitting just .169 overall while Bay Path hit .220.

The Eagles return to action on Wednesday when they visit Newbury in a NECC matchup beginning at 7:00 p.m.
