Marco Genée serves as head coach of the Eagles
Women’s Soccer program, having completed his first season in
2011.
Genée came to DWC with over six years collegiate soccer
coaching experience at both the NCAA Division I and Division II
level.
He served as a Director of Camps & Clinics for the FC Greater
Boston Bolts, as the Director of Coaching with the Triangle United
Soccer Association in North Carolina and helped UNC Pembroke reach
the NCAA Division II Final Four.
Genée worked with the NCAA Division I programs at Virginia
Commonwealth University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill and Gardner-Webb University. He holds a NSCAA Premier Coaching
License, the DFB (German Soccer Federation) Coaching Diploma and
the UEFA A License.
He has spent several years coaching the Olympic Development Program
(ODP) and acted as a NCAA Site Representative during the NCAA
Division I National Tournament.
As an active athlete, he was an apprentice-professional player for
Werder Bremen in Germany from 1983-1989 and promoted 1990 with the
VfB Oldenburg to the 2. Bundesliga.
