Women's Lacrosse: Eagles Rush Past Dean, 8-3

Nashua, N.H. – Sydney Delforte (Groton, Mass.) scored four goals and Madeline Roulier (Pittsfield, Mass.) added a two goals and an assist to move into sole possession of second place on the all-time Daniel Webster women's lacrosse points list as the Eagles topped Dean, 8-3 Thursday.

Delforte helped the Eagles (2-6) pull away from a close game with three scores covering the last five and half minutes after DWC clung to a 5-3 lead late.

Roulier, who also led the game with five draw controls, improved to 81 career points (57g, 24 a) all-time, surpassing former teammate Amanda Dargie who left DWC with 78. Roulier remains fourth all-time in total goals and is the all-time program assists leader.

Amanda Hem (Lowell, Mass.) chipped in with two goals for the winners. Diamond Majett (Philadelphia, Penn.) made six saves in goal.

The Eagles jumped ahead 3-0 over the opening 13 minutes with scores in order from Hem, Roulier and Delforte and after Dean got on the board at the 7:18 mark, Hem closed the half with her second with 2:27 left for a 4-1 game at the half.

The Bulldogs (0-12) pulled with one on goals from Kim Dickson and Makayla Fisher three minutes apart early in the second but Roulier gave DWC key breathing room with 7:25 left for a 5-3 game before Delforte rattled off her final three to ice it.

The Eagles host Mitchell on Saturday at Noon in a NECC meeting.
