Cross Country: Eagle Men Take Second To NHTI, Women Place Individually
Concord, N.H. - The Daniel Webster College cross country season kicked off Friday afternoon as the Eagle men finished second to host NHTI by a 17-42score as part of the annual Friendly Kitchen 5K in Concord, N.H.
Eric Caron (Groveton, N.H.) led the Eagles with a fifth place showing finishing the course in 20:59, while Coby Costa (Bantam, Conn.) was sixth (21:27), Darrik Marstaller (Spofford, N.H.) was 9th (22:29), Andrew St. Clair took 10th (23:21) and Kevin Gates (Chicago, Ill.) placed 13th (26:04).
On the women's side, senior Sarah Paternostro (Glastonbury, Conn.) placed fourth overall in 26:04 while Jen Fredericks (Beacon Falls, Conn. ) was 14th with a time of 32:15.
The teams are off until next Friday when they host the annual DWC Eagle Invitational. The race will take place at Mines Falls Park in Nashua, located off Exit 5 behind Stellos Stadium. The women's race begins at 4:00 p.m. with the men to follow at 4:30.
