Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Freshman Joel Jerrhag (Ystad, Sweden) scored a pair of goals and assisted another as Daniel Webster defeated Wheelock College 5-0 Tuesday afternoon at Pine Manor College.

The Eagles outshot the Wildcats 43-2 as they improved to 8-4 overall and 4-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference, maintaining sole possession of first place, a half game ahead of Newbury (4-1) and Lesley (4-1-1).

Daniel Webster scored the first goal at the 4:21 mark when Freshman Alex Towne (Northfield, Mass.) launched a shot into the left top of the net on a pass from Jerrhag that staked the Eagles to early lead.

The Wheelock defense led by goalkeeper Victor Kashouh (Providence, RI) kept the Daniel Webster offense under wraps for the next 15 minutes before Towne found a wide open Fletcher Wilson (Troy, NY) right in front of the goal for a 2-0 advantage.

Jerrhag tallied his first goal on a header just five minutes later to lead the Eagles into half-time with a 3-0 lead.

Jerrhag padded the lead less than three minutes into the second half when his ten yard shot found the back of the net. Kyle Davis (East Hampton, Conn.) set the final score with an unassisted goal at the 58:29 mark.

Wheelock goalkeeper Kashouh recorded 17 saves on the day, while Daniel Webster goalkeeper Tom Al Naber (Parkton, Md.) stopped the lone shot on goal for the Eagles, a breakaway bid in the second half.
