  • Men's Lacrosse: Eagles Quest For Title In Final Game Falls Short, 12-6

    Daniel Webster led 2-0 and 3-2 in the first quarter and were tied at 6-6 at the half, but were shutout the rest of the way as host Regis doubled up the Eagles, 12-6 in the NECC Tournament Championship on Saturday, marking the final game for the program.

    The 218th and final all-time men’s lacrosse contest at Daniel Webster College will be played for all the marbles come Saturday afternoon. Backed by another unconscious goalkeeping effort from senior James Bushey (Hamden, Conn.), who stopped nine shots for his first career shutout, the second-seeded Eagles whitewashed third-seeded Becker, 6-0 in the semifinal round of the 2017 New England Collegiate Conference championship tournament Wednesday before 75 patrons at misty Eagle Field.
  • Men's Lacrosse: Eagles Top Becker In Finale Setting Up Playoff Match On Wednesday

    The Daniel Webster men’s lacrosse program will play at least one more time on its home field, and this time it will be – for the first time in program history – a home playoff contest. Backed by a stingy team defense and terrific goalkeeping from senior James Bushey (Hamden, Conn.), the Eagles shut down Becker, 7-1 Saturday in the NECC and regular season finale for both clubs. The teams will tangle again on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m in the NECC semifinals.

    Tre Mason notched six goals and moved into 10th place all-time on the DWC career points list with his 85th, as the Eagles bested Wheelock, 14-3 Wednesday. DWC now prepares for its final ever regular season home game as they face Becker Saturday with a chance to clinch a home playoff game next week.
  • Men's Lacrosse: Bushey Backstops Eagles, Earns NECC Player Of Week Nod

    Daniel Webster men’s lacrosse player James Bushey of Hamden, Conn. (Hamden) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) "Player of the Week," as announced Monday by the conference office. Bushey, a senior goalkeeper, posted an 8.00 goals against average over a 1-1 week with his highlight game coming in a 16-7 victory over Mitchell on April 8th.
  • Men's Lacrosse: Eagles Smoke Out Hornets, Win 10-6
    April 10, 2017
    Four different goal scorers hit the twine and host Daniel Webster built a 10-2 lead in the fourth quarter before a late Lyndon State comeback fell short as the Eagles prevailed over the Hornets, 10-6 Monday afternoon at Eagle Field. Tre Mason (Kelowna, B.C.) notched three goals to surpass 30 on the season (60th career), while Brandon Beard (Apopka, Fla.) also picked up three, Gavin Abbot registered two with an assists and Matt Ho (Vancouver, B.C.) also scored twice.
  • Men's Lacrosse: Bushey, Eagles Toss Second Half Shutout To Top Mariners, 16-7

    Tied at 7-7 at the half, host Daniel Webster outscored Mitchell 9-0 over the final two periods with Eagle goalkeeper James Bushey (Hamden, Conn.) turning aside 12 shots over that stretch in posting a 16-7 victory over the Mariners in a NECC matchup played at Penmen Field at Southern N.H. University.

    Regis build an early 4-0 lead and then was forced to hold on for a 9-8 win over Daniel Webster, Tuesday at Regis Stadium in the New England Collegiate Conference opener for both teams.
  • Men's Lacrosse: Eagles Fall At Nichols, 12-4

    The Daniel Webster men’s lacrosse team fell behind 7-0 after one quarter and played catch up the rest of the way in dropping a 12-4 loss at Nichols on Thursday afternoon. Tanner Todd posted two goal for the Eagles (3-4) while Sean Donahue and Gavin Abbott added a goal apiece. James Bushey made 17 saves in goal.
  • Men's Lacrosse: Eagles Even Up Record, Top Johnson State 10-1

    Tre Mason (Kelowna, B.C.) registered three goals and an assist and Gavin Abbot (Binghamton, N.Y.) added three assists and one score as host Daniel Webster topped Johnson State, 10-1 in a regional men’s lacrosse matchup Sunday at Raider Field.
  • Athletics: DWC Announces Scheduling Changes For Sunday - Men's Lacrosse & Softball

    Sunday's men's lacrosse and softball contests have been moved to Raider Field at Rivier University. Men's Lacrosse will now face Johnson State one hour earlier at Noon with softball to follow shortly after the completion of the lacrosse contest, estimated at approximately 2:30-2:45 p.m.

    Daniel Webster men’s lacrosse player Tre Mason of Kelowna, B.C. (Rutland) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) "Player of the Week," as announced Monday by the conference office. Mason, a sophomore attack, posted a game-high 10 points with six goals and four assists in a 14-9 Eagle road victory over Emerson on March 18th.

    Daniel Webster trailed by as many as four goals in the second quarter but used a decisive seven goal third quarter to post a 14-9 come-from-behind victory over Emerson in a regional matchup Saturday night at Rotch Field.

    Host UMass Boston led Daniel Webster 4-2 after one quarter but potted six second period scores and went on to post a 15-4 victory Monday afternoon at Cotter Field. Tre Mason led the Eagles (1-2) with a pair of goals while Tanner Todd and Gavin Abbot netted single scores.

    Tre Mason (Kelowna, B.C.) posted six goals and added an assist and a trio of Eagles added four goals each as host Daniel Webster captured their season home opener with a 21-5 victory over Green Mountain Monday night in a contest played at Raider Field at Rivier University.

    After falling behind 5-0 after one quarter, Daniel Webster chipped away and climbed back into the game pulling within one in the third quarter before host Albertus Magnus pulled away in the fourth handing the Eagles an 11-8 defeat in DWC’s 2017 and final season opener Friday night at Celentano Field.
