Ice Hockey: MIT Hold Off Wild Third Period Rally From Eagles, 7-6
Cambridge, Mass. – MIT built a 4-1 lead after two periods and then held off a wild third period Daniel Webster rally to pin a 7-6 victory on the Eagles Tuesday night.
Six different players lit the lamp for the Eagles (8-6, 7-6 NECHA).
Trailing by three heading into the third, the Eagles (8-6, 7-6 NECHA) notched three straight to tie it, all within the first 5:10 of the period with scores coming from Chris Gordon (Groton, Mass.), Ricky Stuart and Kerri Bell, Jr. (Cape Coral, Fla.).
From there, it was a back-and forth game as MIT pulled back ahead 35 seconds after Bell's score. DWC tied it again on a Justin Chiulli (Saugus, Mass.) marker with 12:34 remaining but MIT pulled ahead to stay with goals 45 seconds apart with 9:47 and 9:02 remaining.
Ronnie Corcoran (Tyngsboro, Mass.) made it a 7-6 game with 4:06 to go but the Eagle's couldn't get the equalizer over the final minutes.
MIT finished with a 35-25 shots advantage. K.J. Monahan II (Nashua) took the loss.

The Eagles return home for two important NECHA Colonial North Division games beginning Saturday against WPI at 8:45 p.m. at Conway Arena and following with Lyndon State on Sunday at 8:00 p.m.
