Ice Hockey: Eagles Can't Catch Up With Chargers, Fall 4-3
West Haven, Conn. – The Daniel Webster ice hockey team dropped its first game of the 2011-12 campaign Friday night as host New Haven never trailed in posting a 4-3 victory at Bennett Arena.
Bobby Loranger (Billerica, Mass.), Josh Adinolfo (Manchester, N.H.) and Ronnie Perry (Derry, N.H.) all scored for the Eagles (1-1, 0-1 NECHA).
Kevin Monahan II (Nashua, N.H.) took the loss in goal.
After the Chargers jumped ahead in the first, Loranger would tie it off a Marcus Marion (Riverview, Fla.) feed with 3:21 remaining and the teams were tied at 1-1 after one.
New Haven built a 3-1 lead in the second before Adinolfo cut it to 3-2 with 3:22 to go off an Aaron Delande (Rowley, Mass.) pass. Mike Hauch (Clearwater, Fla.) would also assist.
UNH upped it to 4-2 early in the third before Perry would again pull DWC within one on the power play with Shawn Glidden (West Bridgewater, Mass.) and Ian Catenzaro (Londonderry, N.H.) assisting with 9:38 to go but the Eagles couldn't get the equalizer down the stretch.
DWC returns home to host Castleton Saturday night in a NECHA matchup beginning at 8:00 p.m.
