The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has announced that 11 Daniel Webster College student-athletes have been named to the Spring Academic All Conference Team. The number represents a drastic 450-percent increase for the Daniel Webster athletics program after two student-athletes were named to the Spring academic team in 2009.

Freshman Darrik Marstaller was named the first conference Rookie of the Year in program history, and was joined by Elliot Kilgore, Kory Kiro, and Bruce Brown. Head Coach J.P. Pyne took Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season.

Fresh off its first conference regular season tournament championship, the Daniel Webster College baseball program received some icing on the cake Monday night, receiving the eighth and final at large bid to the ECAC Division III New England Championship tournament, the first in the history of the program. The eighth-seeded Eagles visiting top seed Curry on Wednesday beginning at 3:00 p.m. on the campus of Bentley College in Waltham, Mass.
May 9, 2010 The 2010 NECC Baseball Championships: EAGLES RALLY PAST BECKER, MITCHELL TO EARN SHARE OF CROWN
Needing a win in the final day of a weather-shortened double-elimination tournament, top-seeded Daniel Webster rallied from an early day 8-6 loss to second-seeded Mitchell College rebounding to eliminate third-seeded Becker College 7-5, and then top Mitchell in the nightcap, 12-1 and earn a share of the title with the Mariners Sunday at Harvey Woods Field.
The seven-game tourney was shortened to six games due to a wash-out of Saturdays schedule. By virtue of the Eagles 12-1 win, both Daniel Webster and Mitchell finished with one tournament loss and will share the title.

For the second time this season, Daniel Webster College baseball player Darrik Marstaller of Spofford, N.H. has been named Rookie of the Week by the New England Collegiate Conference. Over four games this past week Marstaller, a freshman center fielder, hit .353 (13-30), slugged .647 with a double and triple, scored four runs, stole two bases, and knocked in six as the Eagles went 3-1 overall and clinched the NECC regular season championship.

Daniel Webster College baseball player Noah Shaw of Lebanon, Conn. (Lebanon HS) has been named Pitcher of the Week by the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC).
Shaw tossed a complete-game 4-0 shutout victory in the opener of a doubleheader with Elms College on May 1st, helping the Eagles clinch at least a tie for the NECC regular season title. The team went on to take game two and win the title outright later that afternoon.

The rookie and Milford, N.H. native crushed a 0-1 pitch to deep left center scoring fellow freshman Darrik Marstaller (Spofford, N.H.), who had hit the same spot with a game-tying triple moments before to give the Eagles an improbable 5-4 come-from behind victory over Elms College to capture the New England Collegiate Conference regular season title, the first title of any kind for the program since 1996.

Daniel Webster remained a full game ahead of Mitchell for first place in the conference standings.

Tyler Calkins two-run single with one out in the top of the eighth pushed home both Darrik Marstaller and Bruce Brown with what stood up to be the winning runs as the Eagles broke the all time program record for victories in a season.

Junior Bruce Brown (Lowell, Mass.) went a combined 6 for 8 with a home run, three RBI and was perfect on five stolen base attempts guiding host Daniel Webster to a doubleheader sweep of Newbury College, 10-2 and 6-3 in a New England Collegiate Conference meeting Saturday at Harvey Woods Field.
The victories pushed the Eagles over .500 at 9-8 overall (4-1 NECC) for the first time this late in the season in program history. The nine wins also tied the all time program season wins mark, matching the 1995 squad that went 9-10.
