Eagles Edged By Lasell in 10th, 3-2

Nashua - Jim Amon's (Warren, N.J.) infield single with two outs in the top of the 10th inning scored pinch runner Carl Lentini (Wilmington, Mass.) with the eventual game winning run as Lasell College tipped host Daniel Webster College, 3-2 in northeast regional baseball action Tuesday at Harvey Woods Field.

Chuck Manning (Riverside, R.I.) led the Eagles (0-13) going 4-for-5 at the plate and knocked in a run, while Nick Michaud (Windsor Locks, Conn.) added two hits and took the tough-luck loss on the mound.

Michaud (0-4) scattered seven hits over 10 innings, allowing two earned runs, walking three and striking out one.

Pat Girard (Stonington, Conn.) added two hits and knocked in one for the first-year Lasers (4-11), who halted a six-game skid.

Nick Guzman (Worcester, Mass.) earned the win (1-2) for Lasell allowing one hit over 2 2/3 innings of relief for starter Mike Mahoney (Rockland, Mass.), who struck out three and walked two.

Lasell forged ahead 1-0 in the second with an unearned run as Junior Veija (Randolph, Mass.) walked and later scored on an error.

The Eagles took the lead with two in the bottom of the fourth as Trevor Duggleby (Nashua) singled home Zach Cantor (Windham, Maine), and later scored on a Manning two-out single.

A Girard two-out RBI single scored Sean Ruderman (Pittsfield, Mass.) in the fifth to tie it.

The Eagles return to action on Thursday, April 2nd as they host Maine-Presque Isle beginning at 3:30 p.m., while Lasell visits Salem State.
