Eagles Tabbed Fifth In NECC Preseason Poll
Nashua - The Daniel Webster College baseball team has been
tabbed fifth in the inaugural New England Collegiate Conference
(NECC) preseason coaches' poll.
Second year head coach J.P. Pyne's squad received 25 total points.
The Eagles come off a 4-25 overall record last season and join the
NECC in its inaugural season in 2009.
The Eagles return eight letter winners from last year's squad and
welcome 13 newcomers.
This is the inaugural year for the New England Collegiate
Conference. Six of the nine league members sponsor baseball.
Elms College was tabbed as the preseason favorite, receiving two
first place votes, while Mitchell was picked second with four first
place votes.
The Eagles open their season March 8th against Emerson College in
Lakeland, Fla. as part of a six-game swing in the Sunshine State.
DWC opens its northern schedule March 21st at Salve Regina
University and opens its home slate March 25th against Colby-Sawyer
College.
